'La boussole' (The Compass) is the first EP from Montreal-based Roots Reggae band Regeneration. The song 'Reggae Stylie' opens the EP and announces the arrival of the group on the scene as part of a new roots generation. 'Danse' and 'La boussole' are more dancy, but still have thoughtful lyrics. 'The Stand' closes with a social question and a spiritual answer.

This EP features The Wailers drummer and Reggae heir Aston Barrett Jr, son of Bob Marley bassist Family Man Barrett, to build a solid rhythmic base. On vocals, the band also collaborated with foundation artist Vernon Maytone ('The Stand') and up and coming Brazilian singer Rafael Cardoso ('Danse').

'La boussole' est le premier maxi du groupe Roots Reggae montréalais Regeneration. Le titre 'Reggae Stylie' ouvre le maxi et annonce l'arrivée du groupe sur la scène prenant part à la nouvelle génération roots. 'Danse' et 'La boussole' sont des chansons plutôt dansantes, mais dotées de paroles réfléchies. 'The Stand' clôture le tout avec un questionnement social et une réponse spirituelle.

Ce maxi comprend la participation du batteur des Wailers et héritier reggae Aston Barrett Jr., fils du bassiste de Bob Marley Family Man Barrett, pour établir une solide fondation rythmique. Sur le plan vocal, le groupe a aussi collaboré avec le vétéran reggaeman Vernon Maytone ('The Stand') et un chanteur brésilien prometteur, Rafael Cardoso ('Danse').
